Garry Schaffer

Garry's natural aptitude for business was evident when he took operational control of his parents' health food and supplement business while still in high school. After several successful years in retail, he joined a small commercial brokerage and property management firm, pioneering the then-new concept of buyer representation. As the company's office manager, he assisted in sales, marketing, leasing and management of both apartments and office buildings. He quickly decided that real estate was in his future and attended Shwayder Real Estate Academy in 1985, obtaining his license shortly thereafter.

In 1987, Garry joined the legal team at Richmond American Homes to assist with land acquisitions and sales, beginning a 20-year career in the homebuilding industry in Denver. Garry became very well known among area builders and developers for his abilities in production, operations, community development, planning, architectural design, product development and municipal compliance. In 2003, Garry joined Wall Custom Homes as their Operations Manager and in 2005, was recruited by Meritage Homes to be part of the senior staff of their start-up division in Denver. Because of Garry's many years of volunteering as an industry advocate for the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver, he was asked to serve on their Government Affairs Committee from 2004 through 2007.

Volunteerism is a concept well known to Garry. When he purchased his first condominium property and received a notice one month afterward that a special assessment for paint was forthcoming, he knew something wasn't right. It was no surprise that he instantly became Treasurer of the association the minute he uttered the words, "How could you possibly not have enough in reserves for painting?" During his eight years of service, he led the association through a successful builder defect suit and reconstruction project, leaving behind a well-funded, long-term reserve plan. With his most recent condominium purchase, upon offering his time and expertise to his new community, he was immediately elected President, holding the office for three consecutive years. Garry's wide range of expertise in real estate, thorough attention to detail, loyalty in representation, high level of ethics and dedication to service, form the cornerstone of Client Preference's mission of superior service and giving a darn.

Denyse Countryman

Denyse is a native of Colorado who comes to us with over 20 years in the construction and homebuilding industries. But don’t let that fool you.

In 1989 Denyse enlisted in the US Navy Seabees because she needed to make a change in her life and to learn the true meaning of teamwork, ethics and leadership.  Once she graduated from boot camp, she was off to Builder Training School in Port Hueneme, California as the only female student, finishing 3rd in her class of 25. She served her country with pride and honor while assigned to the Public Works Department in Atsugi, Japan during the Persian Gulf War and in Gulfport, Mississippi afterward. Prior to her honorable discharge in 1994, she received the Meritorious Captain’s Mast for her part in the renovation of a WWII building to a Seabee Library/Museum. The project was originally budgeted for $750,000, but with careful management, Denyse successfully completed the project $250,000 under budget.

Denyse crossed paths with Garry in 1999 at Richmond American Homes, when she was hired to assist in community development, forward planning, and construction permitting. In 2005, she crossed paths with Garry again at Meritage Homes, where she was hired to manage permitting, sales contracts, construction scheduling, vendors, and budgeting. Denyse is eager to roll up her sleeves and help us take community management to the next level.

Shelley Tuteur

Shelley joined our team in 2012 after a life-long career in the Travel & Tourism Industry, most recently 10 years in Sales and Account Management with Lufthansa Airlines.  As part of the Implementation Team at Lufthansa, she was a key factor in the successful launch of 2 non-stop flights from Denver to Frankfurt and Denver to Munich, Germany.  Well known in the Metro Area Travel Community, she had a reputation for being one of the leading “relationship builders” and recognized for her outstanding customer service skills.  Her catch phrase has always been, “the customer may not always be right but the customer is always the customer.”

When Shelley is not at work, she might be found enjoying time with her college-bound daughter, knitting up a storm, or volunteering at one of her favorite charities.
